Full house at the El San Juan Hotel & Casino, where Autologica and ADC-Automotive Dealer Consulting hosted a seminar titled "How Successful Dealers are Improving Bottom-line Profits".
Some 50 people registered but around 70 came!
There was a Spanish-language session in the morning, and an English one in the afternoon.
We even had dealers fly in from Dominica, British Virgin Islands, and Haiti.
Thanks to all!
ADC-Automotive Dealer Consulting's Peter Daniel (CEO) and Armando Clavell (consultant) prepping for their presentations.
Al McClymont (CEO of Autologica) kicking off the Spanish-language session in the morning by astutely obstructing everybody's view of the screen.
The seminar's format consisted of interaction between ADC and Autologica, discussing common problems in each department of a dealership, and ideas for solutions, whether through process and procedure improvements (ADC's fortee) and/or through the good use of a DMS (Autologica's field). Armando Clavell of ADC led the discussion for ADC in the Spanish-language session.
Sandra Calligaro, Product Manager at Autologica, discussed common problems and situations in Parts, and offered some ideas for leveraging your DMS.
The major point that was stressed: good processes and procedures let you really leverage your DMS (provided it is leverageable!)
If you look closely, you will see Sandra using her mutant silver-eye powers to convince all present that I MUST HAVE AUTOLOGICA I MUST HAVE AUTOLOGICA I MUST... Only the guy in the light blue shirt was able to escape by shielding himself from the rays.
Although the vitality and excitement of the seminar kept all attendees on the edge of their seats, a shot of caffeine never hurts... coffee break!
Jorgelina Perez, deployment team leader at Autologica, discussed common issues related to the Service Department.
Peter Daniel and Al McClymont , CEOs of ADC-Automotive Dealer Consulting and Autologica respectively, kicked off the English-language session in the afternoon.
Jorgelina Perez at the entrance of the conference room at the El San Juan Hotel & Casino. BTW this is an excellent venue for events and we highly recommend them, great place and service.
Another view of the El San Juan's lobby. Very classy. It's worth mentioning that there are several excellent restarurants plus a great coffee and sandwich shop within the hotel itself.
Another view of the lobby at the El San Juan (I know saying "the El" is redundant but it just sounds better!).
The hotel had a great pool, open all day and even at night. Unfortunately as we are such terribly hard workers we did not get a chance to use it...
... and a great private beach as well, which for the same busy-ant reason we didn't get to visit, except to take this photo...
We arrived a few days before the event in order to prepare, so we actually did have a chance for some R&R, but in no way did we enjoy it!
Here, Al McClymont (CEO Autologica) is giving the classic thumbs-up, while Sandra Calligaro (Product Manager Autologica) offers another finger to the rival DMS rep she just saw on the beach. :)
After the event and two days of private meetings with dealers, we got a chance to do some sight-seeing.
Our visit to Old San Juan began with a walk up a short hill towards El Morro Fort...
We seemed to have all of Old San Juan just about to ourselves (maybe it was the extreme heat!), as we walked through the narrow cobblestone streets.
San Juan is the second oldest city in America (after Santo Domingo if I'm not mistaken) and this historic part of town is very well kept.
We went up a hill, so we then had to go down... this street took us to Paseo de la Princesa...
We finally got her on film! That's Ana Drovandi, head of the Sales department at Autologica and very good-natured by the look of her.
The Autologica team, sans Product Manager who is taking the photo, had a farewell non-alcoholic toast to celebrate what we felt was a very successful seminar in every possible sense. The attendance exceeded our expectations, as did the enthusiasm of all present.
Someone please tell the guy on the right that he dropped his glass.
